POS at the location

You can safely show this page to a new bartender or shop assistant on their first day. The POS is an app on a tablet or phone. Everything it needs to know about your menu and prices it gets from the dashboard by itself.

A cashier's day

How a shift goes

πŸ”‘ PIN login

The cashier enters their PIN β€” the one the owner gave them in the "Staff" section. There are no logins or passwords at the location: a PIN is faster and won't end up forgotten in a chat.

Everyone has their own PIN. One PIN for the whole shift β€” and then it's unclear who sold, who handed in the money and who made the refund.

πŸ• Opening and closing a shift

The shift is opened in the morning and closed in the evening. At closing, the POS shows how much money should be in the drawer, and the cashier enters how much is actually there.

POS Β· closing the shift
Closing a shift on the Selvora POS: receipts, revenue, cash and card, cost, profit and cash count
The POS itself says how much should be in the drawer: the float plus cash revenue. The cashier counts and enters what's there.
Why: so the owner sees a discrepancy the same evening, not a month later when nobody remembers anything.

πŸ›’ Sale

  1. Tap items β€” they're added to the receipt on the right.
  2. Quantity changes right there; swipe to remove extras.
  3. If a discount is needed, pick it from the list. The owner sets up discounts in the dashboard.
  4. Tap "Pay".

Menu on the left, receipt on the right. At the bottom β€” "Add customer" and "Add discount" buttons, the total and "Pay".
Ingredients are deducted from stock automatically β€” by recipe cards. No counting milk at the end of the day.

πŸ’³ How they paid

Cash, card or transfer. It's not a formality: these buttons are what the till is reconciled with in the evening, and card payments are matched with the bank.

If the guest pays partly cash and partly card, it's one button β€” no need to split the receipt in two.
About "Transfer"
  • The owner sees these sales in the dashboard β€” they don't get lost.
  • The transfer isn't printed on the guest's receipt.
  • It doesn't break card reconciliation with the bank β€” it's counted separately.

πŸ‘€ The guest and their card

The cashier asks for a phone number β€” the guest appears in the database and starts collecting points. No need to search next time: the number is remembered.

A QR is printed on the receipt. The guest points the camera β€” the business's card is added to their phone and works like an app. No paper cards needed.

↩️ Refund

Find the receipt and refund it in full or item by item. The ingredients go back to stock.

Every refund goes to the owner as a notification right away. It's not about distrust β€” it's so such cases are sorted out the same day, while everyone remembers.

πŸ—‘ Write-offs and requests

Milk went sour, a bottle broke, coffee is running out β€” the cashier marks it right on the POS. The owner gets a notification, approves or declines with a reason, and the answer is visible at the location immediately.

The point: losses get into the records right away and honestly, instead of surfacing as a discrepancy at the stocktake a month later.

πŸ“΄ The internet is down

The POS keeps selling. Receipts are stored inside it and go to the dashboard by themselves when the connection is back. The guest doesn't notice anything, and neither does the cashier.

If a receipt still gets stuck in the queue β€” it's almost never the connection, it's the data: for example, a discount was applied that the owner has already deleted. Write to us, we'll sort it out in minutes.
